Is hypnotherapy a good way of giving up smoking?

Posted on 4th January 2009 by admin in hypnotherapy

I have heard that some hypnotherapists claim 80% success is this true?
Are there any good self hypnosis recordings available?

If you think that you are "open to suggestion" then go for it. This is not the same thing as not being argumentative. You could be the most argumentative S-O-B but still be susceptible to suggestion, at the same time you could be the most attentive and understanding person in the world but still not be susceptible to suggestion. You know yourself best so if you think that you have the right mindset then go for it. I have been to those public hypnotism shows before and they couldn't crack my mind, so it's just not for everyone. Good luck!

Has pharmacology largely supplanted both hypno- and cognitive therapies and psychoanalysis?

clinical hypnotherapy is not what people normally think of as hypnosis its use in treatment of mental disorders is on the rise for things such as anxiety, depression and smoking cessation as to has pharmacology and psycho active drugs have done away with the need for counseling the answer is absolutely not in fact most studies show that a combination of therapy and medicine is the most effective treatment counseling professionals and pharmacology are part of a team effort in many cases some doctors will not agree to prescribe certain drugs to their patients unless that patient is receiving counseling also

On the average, how many hypnotherapy treatments to see permanant results?

Posted on 31st December 2008 by admin in hypnotherapy

I went to a hypnotherapist with amazing results. However, the next day I seemed to be back where I started. I tried to relax and meditate at home but I did much better during the session. I have heard that two or three is usually sufficiant, is this true? Obviously I understand that everyone will have a different experience.

Depends on the patient. I've done hypnotherapy a few time (on different things, usually regressions for trauma) but when I went for "issues" I always went once (I'm highly suggestible) and then I bought the CD on the subject that my hypnotherapist recommended. He made his own.

You can go to Books-a-Million, Barnes & Nobles, etc., go to their Books on CD and look for Hypnotherapy section. Good luck (or ask your therapist about some!).

Does anyone know where I can find a low-cost Hypnotherapy chair/couch?

Posted on 29th December 2008 by admin in hypnotherapy

I am having difficulty finding a reclining chair/couch that is designed for hypnotherapy use, as oppose to massage (of which there seems to be an abundance available)! Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Check EBAY first, they seem to have everything. If this doesn't work, put an ad in your local paper and maybe someone will have one. It's worth a shot, I'm sure buying one new would be expensive. Good luck!

How can I find clients for my Hypnotherapy practice?

Posted on 27th December 2008 by admin in hypnotherapy

Do you have marketing tips that work?

Aim for addictions. Market to cigarette smokers (you are cheaper than cigarettes in the long run, and they will live longer and feel better). Market to gambling addicts, alcoholics. Market to parents with children who have behavioral problems (hypnotherapy as an alternative to Ritalin). Try going this direction.
